Security and Privacy Policy

Web Accessibility Service (WAS) respects the right of privacy and security of our users. In order to improve your understanding on how WAS collects, uses and protects the personal information of our users, please read carefully on our security and privacy policy. Network Security Policy

Any acts on attempting to upload or change services that WAS provided without authorization are prohibited, and might lead to consequences of law violations. In order to assure the services of WAS are safe and stable, we design the following security policy:

1. Network spyware is applied to monitor network traffic, and to identify persons who intend to upload, change or damage the WAS website information without authorization.
2. Firewall is installed to prevent illegal intrusion, information damage or steal and any illegal usage of the website.
3. Irregularly simulates hacker attack to the websites in order to practice the system recovery procedure and apply proper security protection level accordingly.
4. Backup daily. All data will be saved to the backup storage.
5. All security notification emails from OS and application software vendors are received automatically by the system, and proper patch will be installed based on the suggestions of the notification.

Policy Scope

The following privacy policy applies when actions of collecting, using and protecting of your personal information are involved in WAS websites.

※ Collecting personal information

Your personal information will be needed when you are involving in the following circumstances on the WAS website:

1. On-line activity or survey: When you participate in the on-line activity or survey that is held by WAS, we will need you to provide certain personal information based on the types of the activity or survey.
2. E-mails and comments: Your correct personal information is required if you contact us through E-mails or the comment mailbox on the webpage. This requirement is to assure that the reply finds you well.
3. The others: Please be aware that WAS links to other websites. These websites might also collect your personal information. Different privacy policy might be applied to the personal information you provide to them. The privacy policy of WAS does not apply to the uses of your personal information by these linked websites. No responsibility is held by WAS.

※ The uses of the collected personal information

1. On-line activity or survey: The collected personal information such as name, telephone number and email, is used ONLY for the sake of the activity and statistical analysis. Other information is limited to use for collective characteristics and behavior analysis of our registered users and visitors or academic research. Unless the user agrees to share the personal information, WAS will NOT use the personal information for purpose other than data analysis.
2. E-mails or comments: When you are sending e-mail to WAS or giving comments through the website, your personal information is required. However, the personal information you provided here is used only for replying and providing the information you inquired. If your inquiry is related to the other governmental agencies, we might share your personal information with these governmental agencies. WAS will not provide your personal information to any private sectors, or for any private usages.
3. The others: The personal information you provided after register to WAS website is only used for the design of our service and activity.

※ The sharing of the personal information with third parties

WAS will NOT sell, exchange or lease any of your personal information to any organization or person. However, WAS will share your personal information under the privacy policy stated here. WAS has given you assurance that your personal information will not be disclosed to others without your authorization. Nevertheless, the following circumstances will be treated as exceptions, and your personal information will be handled according to the related legislation instead of the privacy policy we stated above. The circumstances including (but not limiting to):

1. If your behavior on the WAS website has violate our service article or might have jeopardized the right of WAS and lead to damages of other people, it is necessary for WAS to disclose your personal information to identify, contact or take any legal actions.
2. Based on the good wills, WAS believes that disclosing your personal information suits the law.
3. When the Justice Department requires WAS to disclose certain specified personal information for the sake of public safety, WAS will consider the propriety of appropriateness of the legal act, and under the security of all users of WAS, we might provide your personal information in a level of fitness to the Justice Department.

※ Sending E-mails

WAS will send and reply E-mails to you after your registration to the WAS website. These E-mails will be clearly stated that they come from WAS. In addition, you can also find links and descriptions on how to stop subscribing or receiving E-mails sending from WAS.

WAS will not be sending E-mails with contents other than the propagation of the WAS website. Your personal information collected by WAS will not be used for any commercial behaviors and you will not be receiving any commercial advertisements from WAS.

※ Updating your personal information

You can use your ID and password to update or change your personal information, such as name, telephone number, E-mail account, etc., after you become a registered member to WAS. However, the personal information you provide to the forum or post on the message board is not inclusive to the information update system.

※ The modifications of the privacy policy by RDEC of the Executive Yuan

Since the development of technology is rapid and the relative ordinance has not been fully established, WAS reserves the right to change and modify the security and privacy policy stated here. This is to assure that your privacy and the network security is properly guarded. The updated modification, if there shall be any, will be posted on the WAS website as soon as it is done. An eye-catching headline will then be provided to you on the website.
