Good News on Promotion of Business Opportunities for Private Participation worth NT$13,900,000,000 Open by Late April
For the sake of productive promotion of private participation in public infrastructure cases, the Public Construction Commission, Executive Yuan called a coordination meeting on April 7. Suggested by statistics, 23 cases involved in the campaign are either being announced or will be announced in April as scheduled for an overall investment for NT$14,000,000,000 by private institution. Besides, 7 cases from the campaign will be ready or operational, a step that would significantly enhance public services.
The Public Construction Commission indicates, most of the 23 cases involved in the campaign being announced or will be announced in April as scheduled are for cultural and educational installations, followed by tourist and recreation constructions, where the investment projected by the private institution totals NT$ 14,056,000,000. A successful promotion would remarkably boost public service, economy and employment in associated activities. We like to invite more private businesses to join us!
The 12 private participation projects being announced at this time have received a total investment from private institution for NT$4,541,000,000 , of which include BOT Case for the Taipei Sungshan Tobacco Mill for NT$4,230,000,000, the BOT Case for the Xiaojinmen Seawater Desalting Plant for NT$80,000,000 and Invitation to Private Institution in Building and Operating the Guangfu Elementary School Swimming Pool & Peripherals in Zhonghe, Taipei County for NT$50,000,000 among others.
The other 11 cases to be announced in April as scheduled are expected to receive a total investment from private institution for NT$9,515,000,000 , of which include Case for Building and Operation of Guangci Retirement Home and Fudeh Housing Complex by Private Institution for NT$8,340,000,000 and the Chonguang Development Case in Penghu Bay for NT$1,000,000,000 among others.
In addition, 7 private participation projects will be completed or become operational soon as part of the infrastructure and service available. They are: Invitation to Private Participation in Managing the Garden Villa for NT$180,000,000 and Recruitment of Management Contractors for Food Court in New Complex (East Complex) for NT$100,000,000 among others.
It is worth highlighting that the private participation projects for implementation in 2008 proposed by Ministry of Transportation and communications in this meeting include Private Participation in Building and Operating Taiwan Railway Administration Wireless E-business for NT$4,500,000,000 and the Xiangshan Hotel, Sun Moon Lake, BOT case for NT$750,000,000. An estimated date for announcement of the cases will appear on the PCC website for all parties interested in the project.
